Dr. Surinder Jaswal

Former Deputy Director (Research), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai), Dr. Jaswal was a former professor at the Centre for Health and Mental Health, School of Social Work, and Former Deputy Director (Pro-Vice Chancellor), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Chemistry from Mumbai University, and a Masters of Arts in Social Work with specialisation in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Dr. Jaswal is a Ph.D. in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), London University.

Dr. Jaswal has served as Associate Editor, Indian Journal of Social Work (IJSW) from 2002 to 2022, and has numerous national and international publications to her credit. Dr. Jaswal has been closely associated with several reputed agencies and institutions such as NIMHANS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; National Science and Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), Ministry of Science and Technology; National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW); Centre for Mental Health Law and Policy; and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Medical Unit (BARC), Mumbai.
