Dr. F. F. Wadia

A highly respected physician and nephrologist, and former Head of the Department of Medicine, Dr. Wadia is currently Director, Department of Medical Renal Unit, KEM Hospital. In 1969 he was responsible for the first specialised Nephrology unit in Pune at the KEM Hospital, setting up Maharashtra’s second (after Mumbai) dialysis unit. Initially dependent on peritoneal dialysis, it was the first in the city to start haemodialysis in 1972; kidney transplantation followed in 1990. The Department offers a complete range of investigations and treatment for kidney patients and is involved in several research studies.
