Dr. K. J. Coyaji

Dr. Kurus Coyaji qualified as a gynaecologist from the B. J. Medical College and KEM Hospital. He joined the KEM Hospital as an associate consultant in October 1971, and was Medical Director till October 2022. Dr. Coyaji started Pune’s first Infertility Clinic in 1976, and took over as Director of the Ob-Gyn Department in 1979. Involved in several research projects, he led the first team to test the Medical Abortion Pill. Dr. Coyaji was a member of various national committees, including the Scientific Advisory Group and the Project Review Group of the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi.
