Dr. R. A. Mashelkar

A chemical engineer from the University of Bombay, Dr Mashelkar is an internationally renowned scientist. He has received several national and international awards for scientific research, technology and industrial research, leadership and overall excellence. The Indian government has repeatedly recognised his contribution to science, awarding him the Padmashri (1991), the Padma Bhushan (2000), and the Padma Vibhushan (2014).

Former Director of the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune (1989-1995), Dr. Mashelkar has also served as Director General, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research in New Delhi (1995-2006), and was a CSIR. Bhatnagar Fellow (2007-2011). He has held Chairmanships and memberships of several national and international high-powered committees.
